THOMAS TESTER

THOMAS AND LUCY A. SCHRAM TESTER

 

Thomas Tester was born October 9, 1857/1858 in Walsingham, Ontario Canada; to Henry and Emily Bristow Tester. Thomas married Lucy Schram on March 7, 1886 in Thomastown, Saginaw County, Michigan; their witnesses were Nelson J. and Clara Ferris Woolman. Lucy was born in 1869 in Buchanan, Berrien County, Michigan to William V. and Ella E. Schram.  When Lucy married Thomas in 1886, she was living in Lakefield Township with her father and siblings in Section 16 on Lakefield Road.

 

Thomas and Lucy's children were:

  1. Ella “Emily” Emma Tester was January 29, 1888 in Mersea, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. Emma married John H. Watkins on March 20, 1909 in Three Rivers, St. Joseph County, Michigan. Emily died on May 21, 1986 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.

  2. Pearl Ereline Tester was born March 20, 1890 in Mersea, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. Pearl married Erving L. Adams on August 8, 1918 in Hastings, Barry County, Michigan.

  3. Floyd Elmer Tester was born April 4, 1894 in Lakefield Township. Floyd married Mildred L. Lathrup on June 27, 1920 in Barryville, Oakland County, Michigan. Floyd died on December 6, 1986 in Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan.

  4. Frank “Frankie” Tester was born November 9, 1896 in Lakefield Township. He died April 15, 1897 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  5. Oliver Earl Tester was born April 26, 1898 in Michigan. Oliver married Ethel M. Haist on July 15, 1923 in Burton, Shiawassee County, Michigan. Oliver died on January 20, 1987 in East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan.

  6. Percy W. Tester was born 6 May 1901 either in Canada or the United States. Percy married Nina Holcomb. Percy died on June 1, 1895 in Dimondale, Eaton County, Michigan.

  7. Lillian M. Tester was born in 1908 in Michigan.

 

In 1891, Thomas and Lucy were living with Thomas's father, Henry Tester in Mersea, Essex County, Ontario Canada. Also, living with them were daughters, Emily and Pearl Tester and Uncle Thomas Tester (Henry Tester's brother).

 

By 1894, Thomas, Lucy, Emily, Pearl and son, Floyd were living in Lakefield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. On the 1896 Lakefield Township Plat Map, a Thomas Tester owned and operated an 80 acre farm in Section 14 on the west side of Merrill Road between Roosevelt and Lakefield Roads.

 

By 1901, Thomas, Lucy and their family were living back in Canada with Thomas's father; Henry. By 1910, Thomas, Lucy and their family were living in Bennington, Shiawassee County, Michigan.

 

Thomas Tester died on November 1, 1921 in Sciota, Shiawassee County, Michigan. Lucy died in 1958. They are both buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
