John Briggs Jr.

                      JOHN WESLEY AND LYDIA RIGG BRIGGS, JR.

John Wesley Briggs, Jr. was born December 23, 1880 and was the son of John Wesley and Minnie Ryman Briggs. John Wesley, Jr. married Lydia Rigg on January 26, 1916 in Lakefield Township. Lydia was born in Lakefield Township on July 1, 1892, the daughter of George and Mary Willard Rigg. Lydia was a graduate of the Byrnes School which was located on the corner of Swan Creek and Fenmore Roads, Lakefield Township.

John Wesley, Jr. and Lydia had one daughter:

1. Catherine Briggs was born January 18, 1918 in Lakefield Township and died August 25, 1961.

John Wesley Briggs, Jr. worked for the Pere Marquette Railroad and Saginaw County Public Works Department.

 

 

 

John Wesley Briggs, Jr. died August 18, 1943 in Saginaw County, Michigan and Lydia Rigg Briggs died December 11, 1978 in Gratiot County, Michigan. Both are buried in Lakefield Township Cemetery.
