Lakefield Township Early Pioneers of Saginaw County, Michigan

DENNISON W. SPENCER

Dennison W. Spencer was born in December 1834 in New York. His parents were John C. and Nancy Spencer.

 

Dennison was a Private in the Civil War. He was in Company L, Michigan 1st Engineers and Mechanics Regiment. He enlisted on the 20 February 1863 in Davison, Michigan and mustered out on 22 September 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

In the 1890's, according the Civil War Veterans Schedule, Dennis was living in Lakefield Township and was still living in Lakefield in 1900. By 1902, Dennison was living in Grand Rapids, Michigan Soldiers Home.

 

Dennison died on 14 April 1909 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is buried in the Grand Rapids Veteran Home Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan.
