OLIVER MILLEDGE

 

OLIVER L. AND MATHILDA HERBERG MILLEDGE

 

Oliver L. Milledge was born on June 4, 1870 Whitley County, Indiana. His parents were Henry Clay and Perminta M. Smith Milledge. Oliver married Mathilda “Tillie” Herberg in 1894 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tillie's parents were Peter and Mary Runkle Herberg. The Milledge's came to Lakefield Township in 1911.

 

Oliver and Tillie had the following children:

  1. George Milledge was born June 26, 1896 in Huntington, Indiana. George served in WWI. He married Hilda Pretzer. George died on November 11, 1974 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and is buried in the Eastlawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan

  2. Roy M. Milledge was born March 12, 1898 in Huntington, Indiana. He married Meta Koeppen. Roy died on August 11, 1967 in Lakefield Township. He is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  3. Edward Milledge was born February 18, 1900 in Huntington, Indiana. He was elected as Constable in 1926 for Lakefield Township. Edward died on September 15, 1971 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  4. Arthur C. Milledge was born on December 24, 1901. He died in April 1934. He was killed by a bull at the Martin Price Farm.

  5. Francis Milledge was born September 16, 1904 in Huntington, Indiana. He died October 7, 1976 in Cass City, Michigan. He is buried in Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  6. Martha Milledge was born in 1906.

  7. Raymond Milledge was born February 18, 1907 in Ingham County, Michigan. He died June 22, 1984 in Saginaw, Michigan. He is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  8. MaryAnn Ella Milledge was born January 25, 1909 in Ingham County, Michigan. She married Michael Weber on June 29, 1927 in Midland, Michigan. MaryAnn died on October 29, 1929 after child birth due to hemiplegia (paralysis) with complications of pneumonia.

  9. Ella Ann Milledge was born in 1910 and married Wilfred Fisher in Midland County, Michigan on September 6, 1926.

In 1916, Oliver owned and operated a farm in Section 25 on the east side of Chapin Road between Nelson and Grabowski Roads.

 

In 1920, George Milledge owned 80 acres in Section 25 on south side of Nelson Road between Chapin and Steele Roads in Lakefield Township. Edward Milledge owned 120 acres in Section 25 on the SW corner of Nelson and Steele Roads. F.Milledge owned 40 acres in Section 25 on the east side of Chapin Road between Nelson and Grabowski Roads.

 

Oliver died on April 8, 1936 and Tillie died on June 11, 1938. They are both buried in Lakefield Cemetery.
