JOHN WILLIAM LIEBROCK

JOHN WILLIAM AND ELSIE EDNA COOPER LIEBROCK

 

John William Liebrock was born on September 15, 1880 in Canada. His parents were Lewis and Elizabeth Lebo/Levi Liebrock. John married Elsie Beird on June 25, 1911. Elsie's parents were Alfred and Sylvia Cooper Beird of Lakefield Township.

 

John and Elsie had the following children:

 

  1. Vernon Ray Liebrock was born November 3, 1911 in Lakefield Township. He married Edna Koeppen. Vernon died on December 3, 1971 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  2. Berneda Gwendolyn Liebrock was born January 25, 1913 in Lakefield Township. She married Verne F. Schultz. Berneda died on June 14, 1989.

  3. Alvah Ellwood Liebrock was born March 6, 1919 in Lakefield Township. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Conflict. Alvah married Lula Curry on June 26, 1945. He died on July 13, 1968 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  4. Donald William Liebrock was born on September 26, 1932 in Lakefield Township. He died on May 31, 1995.

 

In 1916, John and Elsie owned and operated 80 acres in Section 13 on Roosevelt Road between Chapin and Steel Roads in Lakefield Township. Their neighbors were Patrick Crowley, Thomas Gerack, Lewis Liebrock, John Watson, Scott Liebrock, John Briggs, William Miller, Jay Schoonmaker, George Harris, and Albert Webb.

 

Elsie Liebrock registered to vote on March 2, 1921, making her one of the first woman to vote in the townshhip.

 

John moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1950.

 

John died on May 15, 1960 and Elsie died on December 22, 1944. They are both buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
