Stephen Perry

STEVEN OR STEPHEN AND SARAH A WHITMAN PERRY

 

Stephen Perry was born 17 January 1858 in New York; his parents were Stephen and Philaman Miller Perry Sr. He married Sarah A. Whitman on 19 August 1884 in Richland Township, Saginaw County, Michigan by George Carson, Minister. Sarah was born 30 November 1863 in Clarence Center, New York. Sarah's father was John Whitman who died on 6 October 1912.

 

Stephen and Sarah had the following children:

  1. Roland Perry was born March 1885 and died on 8 August 1904 in Midland Township, Midland County, Michigan.

  2. Ray Perry was born 2 April 1892 in Carrollton, Saginaw County, Michigan. He married Alice Turner in 1917. Ray died on 8 July 1948 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  3. Miles Perry was born 21 March 1893 in Carrollton, Saginaw, County, Michigan..

  4. Peter J. or D. Perry was born on 16 February 1896 in Lakefield Township.

  5. Levi Perry was born on 28 March 1897 in Lakefield Township and lived in Ada, Michigan.

  6. Ginneda or Garnette Perry was born 30 December 1898 in Lakefield Township. She lived in Bay City Michigan.

  7. Ethel E. Perry was born 8 June 1900 in Lakefield Township. She married Moses “Delore” Labeff on 13 May 1922. Ethel also married Frank Stroik. She died on 4 June 1948 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  8. Joseph P. Perry was born 6 October 1902 in Lakefield Township. He married Lois Yoder on 25 December 1943 in Comins, Michigan. He was in the United States Army during WWII. Joseph died on 6 May 1969.

  9. Margarett Perry was born 20 January 1904 in Lakefield Township and died 20 March 1904 in Lakefield Township at 2 months old.

  10. Maggie M. Perry was born 2 May 1906 in Lakefield Township. She lived in Bay City, Michigan. Maggie died on 13 February 1976 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

 

Stephen and Sarah owned and operated a 40 acre farm in Section 1 on Ederer Road between Merrill and Chapin Roads in Lakefield Township. In 1896 their neighbors were: Patrick Sweeney, John Huggett, and Martin Price. In 1916, their neighbors were: Thomas Sweeney, B.D. Schoonmaker, August Rohn, Martin Price, Phillip Potvin and Fred Watson.

 

Stephen died on 23 April, 1928 and Sarah died on 13 January 1946. They are both buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
