JOSEPH SKLAPSKY

Joseph Sklapsky

 

Joseph Sklapsky was born in July 1850 in Czech Republic (Bohemia) He was married to Mary Ann Novak on April 20, 1873 in East Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Martin and Mary Thomasack Novak. Mary Ann was born April 13, 1856.

Joseph and Mary Ann had the following children:

  1. Frank Joseph Sklapsky was born March 12,74 and was married to Ettie Tester.

  2. Frederick Sklapsky was born April 7, 1876 in East Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan and died 1879.

  3. Jenny Sklapsky was born November 6, 1878 and married William Miller.

  4. Anna Olive Sklapsky was born June 9 1881 in East Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan and was married to George Federspiel..

Mary Ann Novak Sklapsky died on December 9, 1883 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.

Joseph, then married Albena Novak on April 16, 1884. Albena was born 1867 and was the daughter of Martin and Mary Thomasack Novak.

 

Joseph and Albena had the following children:

 

  1. Lilly May Sklapsy born August 8, 1885 in East Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. She married Elmer Federspiel.

  2. William M. Sklapsky was born November 11, 1891. He married Mildred Plant.

In the early 1890's, Joseph and Albena owned and operated an 80 acre farm in Section 27 on the NE corner of Merrill and Nelson Road Martin and Mary Novak, parents of Albena, lived in the next mile to the west on the corner of Fenmore and Nelson Roads.

 

Joseph Sklapsky died on May 7, 1895. Joseph and Mary Sklapsky are both buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan

On December 20, 1898 Albena Novak Sklapsky married John H. Lott in Lakefield Township by Justice of the Peace, Frank Baker. John was from Alaiedon Township, Ingham County, Michigan.
