LEWIS LIEBROCK

LEWIS AND ELIZABETH LEBO/LEVI LIEBROCK

 

Lewis Liebrock was born on August 1851 in Ohio. His parents were George F. and Mary Webber Liebrock. Lewis married Elizabeth Lebo/Levi on May 27, 1873 in Mersea, Essex, Ontario, Canada by G. A. Daughorty. Elizabeth was born July 19, 1852 in Canada to John and Mary Ann Lebo/Levi. Lewis and Elizabeth came to the United States in 1889 from Mersea, Essex, Ontario, Canada..

 

Lewis and Elizabeth had the following children:

  1. Henry Willis Liebrock was born on May 10, 1874 in Mersea, Essex, Ontario, Canada. He died on April 7, 1900 in Lakefield Township. He is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  2. Walter “Scott” Liebrock was born on March 5, 1876 in Canada. He married Sarah “Sadie” Cooper. Scott died on December 19, 1932 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  3. George Ames/Amos Liebrock was born September 19, 1878 in Canada. He died on April 18, 1909 of Tuberculosis and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

  4. John William Liebrock was born September 15, 1880 in Mersea, Essex, Ontario, Canada.  He married Elsie Beird on June 25, 1911. He died on May 15, 1960 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

 

In 1896, Lewis and Elizabeth owned and operated 40 acres of land in Section 13 on the south side of Roosevelt Road between Chapin and Steel Roads of Lakefield Township. To the east of them lived Willis “Henry” Liebrock who owned 40 acres and to the south of Henry lived Scott Liebrock with his own 40 acres on the north side Lakefield Road between Chapin and Steel Roads.

 

By 1916, Lewis and Elizabeth owned and operated 80 acres of land in Section 13 on the south side of Roosevelt Road between Chapin and Steel Roads. Their neighbors were John Briggs, John W. Liebrock, Scott Liebrock, Patrick Crowley, Thomas Gerack, William Miller and Jay Schoonmaker.

 

Lewis died on April 14, 1918 and Elizabeth on March 22, 1932. They are both buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
