FREDERICK SALADINE

FREDERICK AND CORNELIA CIESLINSKI SOLOTEN/SALADINE

FREDERICK AND SARA JANE FOSMORE SALADINE

Frederick Soloten/Saladine was born on 29 September 1872 in Utica, Macomb County, Michigan. His parents were Fred and Veronica Boker Saladine. Fred married Cornelia “Nellie” Cieslinski.

 

Fred and Nellie had the following children:

  1. Joseph Saladine was born 29 January 1908 and died on 3 November 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan.

  2. Fred Saladine Jr. was born in 1910 in Maple Grove, Michigan. He married Lila Tolfree on 10 October 1933 at the Sacred Heart Church, Merrill, Michigan. Fred and Lila lived in Lakefield Township in 1940 with their children: Charlotte, Fredelein, Clifford and LeRoy Saladine.

  3. Mary K. Saladine was born 6 September 1914 Lakefield Township and died 15 April 1920 at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, Michigan. She died at the age of 6 years old due to Vincent's Angina. Mary is buried in a Lakefield Cemetery.

  4. Louise Ceclia Saladine was born 4 October 1916 in Lakefield Township.

  5. Rose Martha Saladine was born 2 August 1919 in Lakefield Township.

 

Cornelia “Nellie” died on 9 May 1920 at the age of 32 years 8 months and 3 days old, of pneumonia. She died 24 days after her 6 year old daughter, Mary.

 

Fred also married Sara Jane Fosmore, she was born in Tennessee. Fred and Sara had the following children:

  1. Annabelle Saladine

  2. Betty Jean was born 17 July 1926 in Lakefield Township. She died 3 September 1926 in Lakefield Township and is buried in a Lakefield Cemetery.

  3. Pearl Saladine was born 29 January 1928 in Lakefield Township. She married Arnold L. Koepplinger. Pearl died on 21 August 1987

  4. John Saladine.

 

In 1916, Fred owned and operated a 200 acre farm in Section 9 on Swan Creek Road between Meridian and Fenmore Roads. His children went to the Byrnes School which was located kitty-corner across from his property on the corners of Swan Creek and Fenmore Roads.

 

Fred died on 10 June 1942 and is buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lakefield Township.
