George W. Frost

GEORGE W. AND ANNA CATHERINE WALTERS FROST

 

George W. Frost was born August 6, 1850 in Thompson, Geauga County, Ohio. His parents were Joshua and Mary Frost. George married Anna “Annie” Catherine Walters on February 13, 1872. Annie was born on April 30, 1843 in Pennsylvania and her parents were John and Susan Walters.

George and Annie had the following children:

  1. ? George Frost was born in 1872 in Pennsylvania and died on September 21, 1879 in Jonesfield, Saginaw County, Michigan of an intestinal infection. He was 7 years 10 days old. (according to the Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan; parents – death records)

  2. ? Oliver Frost was born in 1872 and died on September 20, 1878 and is buried in the Richland Township Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County, Michigan. (according to the Richland Township      Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw County,  Michigan - tombstone photo)

3.   Susannah Frost was born on February 23, 1874 in Green County, Wisconsin. She married Fred A. Washburn on January 13, 1901 in Milton, Antrim County, Michigan by Minister Hewitt. Susannah died on February 21, 1953 in Bellaire, Antrim County, Michigan. She is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan.

4.   John Sylvester Frost was born October 8, 1875 in Green County, Wisconsin. John died on October 9, 1937 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan.

5.   Manley Michael Frost was born on March 12, 1878 in E. Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. Manley died in 1948 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Antrim County, Michigan.

6.   Anna Rebecca Frost was born on February 8, 1880 in Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. She married Lewis Washburn. Anna died on December 31, 1961 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. She is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Antrim County, Michigan.

7.   Angeline E. Frost was born October 18, 1881 in Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. . She married John Chilson on December 25, 1911 in Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan by Minister of the Gospel Thomas Young.

8.  James D. Frost was born September 6, 1882 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He married Lucretia I. Henderson on December 23, 1917 in Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan by Pastor Emmett C. Eldred. James died on December 19, 1965 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan.

 

In 1880, George W. and Annie are living in Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

On April 4, 1892, George Frost was elected as Constable of Lakefield Township.

 

In 1896, George Frost owns and operates 40 acres of land in Section 12 in the middle of the mile of Lakefield Township between Swan Creek and Roosevelt Roads and also between Chapin and Steel Roads. George's neighbors were Albert Cooper; P. Clark; Walter Cooper; Delphis Arsanault.

 

George's brother, William Joshua Frost,  also lived in Lakefield Township on Ederer Road.

 

By 1900, George and his family are living in Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan. The 1900 census states that George Frost is a Lumberman. The 1900's census also states that Anna had 8 children and 6 were living.

 

George and Annie are both buried in the Southern Cemetery, Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan.
