Peter Clark



Peter Clark was born 1833 in Ireland. Peter married Mary Ann Crampton. Mary Ann was born in 1838 in Canada to John and Ellen M. Brady Crampton. Peter and Mary came to the United States from Canada in 1875.


Peter and Mary Ann had the following children:

  1. Patrick Clark was born May 1868 in Canada and died February 17, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan.

  2. Margarett “Maggie” Clark was born in 1869 in Quebec, Canada. Maggie was married to Andrew Murphy Jr. on April 23, 1897 in Merrill, Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  3. Peter Clark Jr. was born 1872 in Canada.

  4. Mary Clark was born 1874 in Canada.

  5. Anna Clark was born June 11, 1875 in Fremont, Saginaw County, Michigan. Anna married George P. Wagner on October 15, 1901 in Merrill, Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  6. John Clark was born April 6, 1878 in Lakefield Township.

  7. Eliza “Elizabeth” Clark was born in March 30, 1880 in Lakefield Township. Elizabeth married Michael Novak on May 3, 1899 in Merrill, Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  8. Twin – Angolis “Angela” C. Clark was born January 15, 1881 in Lakefield Township. Angela married George W. Johnson on September 20, 1905 in Merrill, Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  9. Twin – Francis E. Clark was born January 15, 1881 in Lakefield Township. Francis died February 19/20 1897 in Lakefield Township of inflammation of the lungs.

  10. James Clark was born July 4, 1886 in Lakefield Township.

  11. Helen Clark was born July 20, 1888 in Lakefield Township. Helen was never married.

  12. Rosa Clark was born in March 1890 in Lakefield Township. Rosa married Clarence Bellinger on August 1, 1910 in Merrill, Jonesfield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.


Peter and Mary owned 80 acres of land on the NW corner of Section 13 at the intersection of Chapin and Roosevelt Roads.


In the 1880 Michigan Agricultural Census; Peter owned 15 acres of tilled land, 8 acres of meadow or pasture and 120 acres of forest or woodland.


Peter was appointed as Lakefield Township Overseer of Highways Road District #1 on April 4, 1887 and April 4, 1892.


Mary died on September 21, 1907 in Lakefield Township.
