O'Neill "Neil" F. Langlios

O'NEILL F. “NEIL” AND MARY BELL LAUER LANGLOIS

 

O'Neill F. “Neil” Langlois was born January 4, 1888/1889 in Michigan. Neil's grandparents were Hyacinthe and Lareina LaDuc Potvin. Neil also was a nephew to Phillipe Potvin who lived in Lakefield Township. Neil married Mary Belle Lauer. Mary was born on September 9, 1892 in Lafayette Township, Gratiot County, Michigan to Matthias and Mary Havenaughle Lauer.

 

Neil and Mary had the following children:

  1. Matthias Langlois was born in 1911 and died in 1954. He is buried in the Chippewa Township Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan.

  2. LeRoy James Langlois was born June 26, 1913 in Lakefield Township. He served in the Army during WWII. LeRoy died on December 18, 1972 in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan.

  3. Philip William Langlois was born January 10, 1916 in Lakefield Township. Philip died on January 23, 1995 in Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan.

  4. O'Neil Martin Langlois was born March 3, 1918 in Lakefield Township. O'Neil died on September 8, 1992 in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan.

  5. Collette Martha Langlois was born June 9, 1910 in Lakefield Township.

  6. Edmund James Langlois was born March 13, 1924 in Lakefield Township. He was a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. Edmund died on March 5, 1981 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan

  7. Mary Madeline Langlois was born March 3, 1926 in Lakefield Township

  8. Robert Francis Langlois was born March 4, 1930 in Lakefield Township. Robert died on April 28, 1951 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan

 

In 1916, Neil and Mary owned and operated a farm in Section 2 on the SW corner of Merrill and Swan Creek Roads. Their neighbors were: Fred Watson, Moses LaBeff, F.H. Cooper, Floyd Cooper, W.F. Wilson, Jesse Baker, Martin Price and Phillipe Potvin.

 

By 1940, Neil and his family are living in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan.

 

Neil died on April 28, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan and Mary died on March 17, 1976 in Farmington Hills, Oakland County, Michigan. They are both buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan.
