Charles Mason

Charles Carleton Mason was born October 24, 1872 in Matteson, Branch County, Michigan; his parents were Tyler D. and Marion Baxter Mason. He married Lillian Bow on July 15, 1895 in Carrollton, Saginaw County, Michigan. Lillian was born September 4, 1877 in Kochville, Saginaw County, Michigan; her parents were Philip and Adelaide Davis Bow.

 

In 1896, Charles and Lillian owned and operated a 40 acre farm in Section 21 of Lakefield Township.  Neighbors were: Frank Glinke, John Kissane, Charles Bow, Orin Bow, Mike Kissane, Edward Miller, Frank Krupka, Rudolph Hinterman, Frank Herbage, and Gustav Wenzel.

Lillian passed away on April 21, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan and is buried in Forest Lawn, Saginaw, Michigan. Charles passed away on September 3, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.

Charles and Lillian children were:

  1. Nina Bell Mason was born May 7, 1896. She married Archie Parmely. Nina passed away on August 8, 1952 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

  2. Ester May Mason was born September 26, 1898 in Lakefield Township. She married Calvin Dickson on October 13, 1914; he passed on February 14, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. Ester then married William LaFrance in 1921. Ester passed away on February 28, 1975 and is buried in the St. Andrews Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  3. Della Louise Mason was born October 2, 1900. She married Claude Unger. Della passed away on July 6, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan. She is buried in St. Andrews Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  4. Martha Rose Mason was born August 10, 1902 in Lakefield Township.  She married Niles Shreve on June 23, 1923 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan. Martha passed away on March 31, 1972 and is buried in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  5. Milan Floyd Mason was born November 1904 Lakefield Township. He married Alida Ellen Russell. Milan passed away on November 27, 1960.

  6. Eunice (Viola) Mason married Orren Arnold on 13 October 1923 in Flint, Genessee County, Michigan.  She also married Delbert Bateman on 27 June 1935.

  7. Charles "Tyler"  Mason was born May 2, 1909 in Lakefield Township. He married Dora Ann Keidel. Dora passed away on 1 June 1934 due to German Measles.  Tyler passed away on September 8, 1935 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan.  They left twin daughters;  Great Uncle Frank and Aunt Margaret Mason raised the girls.

  8. Marion Adelaide Mason was born October 4, 1912 and died February 23, 1913 of pneumonia at the age of 4 months in Saginaw, Michigan.   She is  buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
