Francis John Levi

FRANCIS JOHN AND MELINDA/MALINDA LEE LEVI

 

Francis John “Frank” Levi was born on October 20, 1855 in Canada; his parents were John and Mary Ann Gibson Levi. Frank married Melinda/Malinda Lee on January 21, 1880 in Canada. Melinda was born on October 5, 1864 in Essex County, Canada.

 

Frank and Melinda had the following children:

  1. Everett Lawrence Levi was born February 19, 1883 in Leamington, Essex County, Ontario, Canada. He married Selma Biesterfeld in June of 1904, she died February 24, 1932 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan. Everett also married Gladys Turnsstall on August 24, 1935, she died September 11, 1995. Everett died February 24, 1947 and is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  2. Howard Levi was born March 7, 1885 Essex County, Ontario, Canada. He married Bertha May Hanson Brown December 5, 1915 in Jackson, Ingham County, Michigan. Howard died in August 1960 and Bertha died in 1935; they are both buried in the Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.

  3. Albert B. Levi was born August 10, 1887 in Leamington, Essex County, Canada. He married Blanche Pringle. Albert died August 7, 1931 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

  4. Melbourne “Francis” Levi was born July 17, 1895 in Lakefield Township. Francis was elected as Lakefield Township Constable on April 4, 1927.   He married Pearl Emma Julia Vondett. Francis died April 21, 1962.

  5. Ermest Guilds Levi was born December 17, 1898 in Lakefield Township. He married L. Mae Conklin, she was born January 25, 1901 in Drayton Plains, Michigan. Ernest died February 16, 1980 in Houghton Lake, Michigan and L. Mae Levi died February 1, 1993; they are both buried in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, Gratiot County, Michigan.

  6. Austin Clinton Levi was born January 26, 1904 in Lakefield Township. He married Anna Felistis Lynch on October 15, 1928 in Freeland, Saginaw County, Michigan. Anna was born July 10, 1905 in Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan. Austin died on May 3, 1975 and Anna died on August 30, 1993; they are both buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

Frank and Melinda owned and operated an 80 acre farm in Section 14 on Lakefield Road between Merrill and Chapin Roads.

 

Frank was elected or appointed to the following Lakefield Township Offices.

 

  1. Elected as Constable on 2 April 1888.

  2. Appointed as Overseer of Highways District #5 on 2 April 1888.

  3. Elected to the Board of Review for 2 years on 4 April 1892.

  4. Appointed Gatekeeper to the Board of Elections on 6 April 1896.

 

Frank died on June 25, 1924 and Melinda died May 14, 1947; they are both buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
