JOHN R. AND ROSE NOVAK LEONARD

 

John R. Leonard was born on March 18, 1869 in Austria. He married Rose Novak 1903 in Austria. Rose was born on October 3, 1883 in Austria. John and Rose came to the United States in 1904 and lived in Versailles, Pennsylvania before coming to Lakefield Township. John and Rose owned and operated a 77 acre farm in Section 4 of Lakefield Township on the northeast corner of Swan Creek and Meridian Roads. Their children attended the Byrnes School on the corner of Swan Creek and Fenmore Roads.

 

John and Rose had the following children:

  1. Nickolas Leonard was born on January 1, 1906 in Versailles, Pennsylvania, he married Wanda Milewicz. Nickolas died on June 24, 1982 and Wanda died December 22, 1997; they are both buried at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  2. Joseph Leonard was born on March 18, 1908 in Versailles, Pennsylvania, he married Evelyn Karstens. Joseph died June 30, 1981 and Evelyn died October 17, 2005; they are both buried in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

  3. Anna L. Leonard was born on December 25, 1909 Versailles, Pennsylvania and was married to Clyde Easlick. Anna died September 29, 2004 and Clyde died August 19, 1971; they are both buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  4. George Leonard was born June 26, 1911 in Versailles, Pennsylvania, he was a WWII Veteran who served in the United States Army in Europe. He died on March 2, 1973 and is buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  5. Stephen Leonard was born January 12, 1913 in Versailles, Pennsylvania and served in the Navy Seabees during WWII; he died on June 15, 1996 and is buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  6. Sophia M. Leonard was born on August 26, 1917 in Lakefield Township, she married Stephen Drielick on May 3, 1947. Sophia died on August 6, 2005 and Stephen died on February 10, 1995 and they are both buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  7. Frank Leonard was born April 3, 1919 in Lakefield Township, he married Ellen Rex. Frank died on June 25, 1986 and Ellen died October 5, 1992. They are both buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

  8. Lillian Rose Leonard was born October 3, 1922 in Lakefield Township and she married Thomas J. Roth. Thomas was born October 4, 1923 in Breckenridge, Gratiot County, Michigan. Lillian died May 27, 1995 in Grayling, Michigan and Thomas died on July 22, 1973 in Graying, Michigan. They are both buried in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, Gratiot County, Michigan.

  9. Margaret Leonard was born February 2, 1925 in Lakefield Township and she died January 22, 1981. She is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

John died on April 5, 1942 and Rose on February 9, 1969; they are both buried at Merrill Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakefield Township, Merrill, Saginaw County, Michigan.
