HUGH A. McDONALD

 

HUGH A. AND SARAH E. BRADY McDONALD

 

Hugh A. McDonald was born on April 16, 1863 at Mt. Carmel, Ontario, Canada. His parents were Ronald and Sarah McCormick McDonald. He married Sarah E. Brady on August 1, 1893 in Hemlock, Michigan by Father E. Hayden. Sarah was born on October 3, 1873 in Brant Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. Her parents were James and Catherine Egan Brady.

 

Hugh and Sarah had the following children:

  1. Sarah McDonald was born June 1, 1894 in Lakefield Township. She died on October 5, 1894 of spinal disease at 4 months 5 days old in Lakefield Township.

  2. John F. McDonald was born October 10, 1895 in Lakefield Township. He died on December 26, 1913 of a Abscess of the Lungs in Marion Springs, Saginaw County, Michigan. He was 18 years 2 months and 10 days old.

  3. Ronald Rollie Bernard McDonald was born August 9, 1899 in Lakefield Township. He married Hildegard Irene Leo on June 9, 1934 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.

  4. Catherine (birth record)/Katherine G. McDonald was born September 11, 1901 in Lakefield Township. Katherine was married to William G. Ginster (pharmacist) on June 29, 1925 at Sacred Heart Church, Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan by Father A. Webeler. She taught in many public and parochial schools. Katherine died on December 24, 1967 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. She is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan.

  5. James A. McDonald was born in 1905. He married Angela Strong on June 20, 1932 at St. Mary's Church in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan by Father Edward O'Hara.

  6. Hugh Jr. McDonald was born March 27, 1906 and died on November 18, 1964

  7. William H. McDonald was born in July 7, 1909. He married Edith Elizabeth McKernan on January 20, 1936 at St. Gregory Church, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan by Rev. F.A. Pokriefka. He lived in Northville, Wayne County, Michigan. William H. died on October 2, 1987 in Livonia, Wayne County, Michigan.

  8. Francis J. McDonald was born July 8, 1913 in Marion Springs Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

Hugh A. McDonald was elected as Lakefield Township Constable on April 6, 1897 and was appointed as the Overseer of Highways #7 of Lakefield Township on April 3, 1899.

 

In 1896, Hugh A. and Sarah E. owned and operated an 80 acre farm in Section 36 on Townline Road between Chapin and Steel Roads. Their neighbors were Roderick McPhee, Fred Pagel, Malcolm McInnis, Kenneth McInnis, Kenneth McLeod.

After 1910, Hugh A. and Sarah E. moved to Marion Springs Township, Saginaw County, Michigan.

 

Hugh A. died on February 17, 1920 in Marion Springs, Saginaw County, Michigan and Sarah E. died on August 14, 1941 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. They are both buried in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, St. Charles, Saginaw County, Michigan.
