Dorsey and Lucy Tolfree Davis

Dorsey Lawrence Davis was born October 9, 1894 in Kochville, Saginaw County, Michigan to Ishmael and Ida Buell Davis.

Lucy Tolfree as a student in 1912 at the Brown School in Lakefield Township

 

 

 Dorsey married Lucy A. Tolfree on December 27, 1917 in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan. Lucy was born April 21, 1901 in Lakefield Township to Joseph and Ellen Deal Tolfree.

 

Dorsey and Lucy had the following children:

  1. Female Davis, stillborn, died August 14, 1918 in Lakefield Township.. The baby died when Dorsey was serving during WWI.

  2. Ellen Elnore Davis was born June 16, 1920 in Lakefield Township.

  3. Kathleen Margaret Davis was born December 11, 1921 in Lakefield Township.

  4. Chester Otto Davis was born October 8, 1923 in Lakefield Township.

  5. Thelma Davis

  6. Richard Davis

  7. Shirley Davis

 

Dorsey, Lucy and their family moved to Flint, Genessee County, Michigan by 1930. Lucy died on January 11, 1933 due to complications after childbirth. Lucy is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery. After the death of Lucy, Dorsey's sister, Leola and her husband, Otto Lange raised Thelma and Richard Davis.

 

Dorsey married his second wife, Ethel Dusinger. and they had the following children:

  1. Dorsey Davis

  2. Mary Davis

  3. Ruth Ann Davis

 

Dorsey Lawrence Davis died on February 1, 1973 and is buried in the Lakefield Township Cemetery.
