George Green

George and Alice Aldrich Green

George Benjamin Green was born either on January 29, or February 27, 1881 in Lafayette Township, Gratiot County, Michigan. His parents were Charles and Anna Aldrich Green. George married Alice Welch on April 18, 1903 by W.H. Beasley, Justice of the Peace, in Ithaca, Gratiot County, Michigan.

 

George and Alice had the following children:

  1. Helen C. Green was born November 1908 in Lakefield Township. She married Lloyd Brandel.

  2. Beatrice Green was born June 25, 1915 in Lakefield Township. She married Homer M. Reeves.

 

 

 

 

 

George owned and operated a 160 acre farm, located on the corner of Grabowski and Fenmore Roads in Section 34 of Lakefield Township. Their neighbors in 1916 were: Jacob Brown, George Most, John Baker, John Honaman, David Dubay, Anthony Grabowski, Alvah Hinterman, and Abraham Lehman.

 

By 1920, George and his family were living in Ithaca Township, Gratiot County, Michigan.

 

George died in 1962 and Alice in 1969, they are both buried in the Lafayette Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan.
